What Is Personal Branding Photography

A question i get asked a lot as a personal branding photographer is “What is personal branding photography?”

And the answer is quite simple, but first I want to just talk about the concept of branding.

The concept of branding is more important today than it ever has been before thanks to the enormous boom in social media in the last few years everyone, from teenagers to executives, are developing their online brand to connect with their audiences and to spread their message.

A brand is not just a logo or a set of colours; a brand is the whole business. “Brand” is how businesses portray themselves to clients and showcase the goods and/or services they provide to their clients.

People no longer want to be sold to, they want something more, they want something they can relate to, that they can connect to and build a relationship with.

That’s where building a brand comes in.

And to showcase your brand to your target audience you need personal branding photography.

So what is personal branding photography?

Explaining what is personal branding photography can be over explained and can get very confusing so im going to try my best to keep this explanation as simple and straight to the point as possible so you can completely understand what personal branding photography is

here we go…

Take your brand message, your mission, your colors and your unique personality, combine it all together and take one-of-a-kind photos of that combination, that’s what personal branding photography is.

It’s one of your most valuable weapons in growing your brand and business.

Personal Branding Photography is photography for your brand that showcases your authentic self

Your personal brand is what makes you very different from your competition, it’s what makes you unique and interesting.

More importantly, though, your personal brand is the experience only you can create for your clients and followers.

It’s what catches their attention when they are scrolling through Instagram and what makes them stop.

Therefore the photos you show are the first impression you make on your clients when they search and find you on social media or your website.

Those photos should be unique to you, who you are, your story and convey the message you want your clients to hear when they think of your brand.

Take the photo below of Michelle Birch

These images are super unique to her, her brand and the story she wants to share with her audience. The desk setup in the city tells the story of her being able to work from anywhere and everywhere while being in her PJ’s shows ore of who she is by loving to work in her PJ’s

The images she uses from their personal branding photoshoot are scroll stoppers, they grab and hook users’ attention which starts the process of them coming into Michelle’s world and even going down her funnel to enquiring about her website’s design services.
